Kindred Concepts
1 Attachment(s)
Hello all, My name is Jomaro Kindred aka GillBates. I have been drawing for a few years now and have been definitely pumping out quite a bit of art as of late.
I'm going to post my work here in hopes of learning new things and helping others out anyway I can. http://www.kindredconcepts.com/images/arm.jpg http://www.kindredconcepts.com/images/arm_color.jpg http://www.kindredconcepts.com/images/heavy_01.jpg http://www.kindredconcepts.com/image...plitta_xxl.jpg http://www.kindredconcepts.com/images/2D9ish.jpg |
Looking good, keep it coming! I especially like the linework for that mech.
These are probably just studies and relatively random, but when you design anything, make sure it tells a story the viewer can relate to :) |
Yeah, awesome man! Was looking for your sb yesterday and couldnt find it, glad you started one. Looking forward for new updates. :)
|
Great Scott! Excellent work.
|
My brother told me that you had started a sketchbook thread. Great stuff!^:)^ I'm surprised you already didn't have one.
|
I honestly thought I had one as well, but I couldn't locate it so I started this one. I have this new found love of mechs, and I've always enjoyed drawing women. So you may see a great deal of me exploring those 2 topics and or the union of those two. Thanks for checking my SB out guys!

Awesome work you got there, can't wait to see more!
|
Thanks Cookieshreds!
This is a sketch I did tonight. SCORPION Z-0: This is a small briefcase sized mech that you can attach a variety of SMGs to. It''s primarily used as a sentry turret, but could help you get the upper hand if you find yourself being swarmed by a ravaging horde of Zombies. =) More iterations to come! http://www.kindredconcepts.com/images/scorpionZ0.jpg |
really nice man - great lines!
|
Awesome! Really cool to see your lineworks and the process (from total doodly rough to paint). You seem really comfortable doing lines digitally! Any advice for someone who finds drawing on the tablet to be pretty awkward? I figured it was because I usually draw on a really small image size (like 1k pixels). I tried sizing up (to about 3k+) and managed to get cleaner lines, but my movements just feel really disconnected or something due to the size.
Anyways, really great stuff! Your bots are killer! |
Thats what I call an impressive start!
This SB is really packed with awesomeness! Hope to much more! Cheers |
Whoa nice work! I love your sketches so far! Inspiring stuff - thanks for sharing!!
|
Thanks for the props! I will definitely have more coming =)

But in regard to line quality and a tablet, in my experience it's best to keep your working area as close to the actual size of your tablet as possible. When I moved from paper to a tablet it felt good to know that if I move my pen an inch on the tablet that it moved about the same amount on the screen. I still think that no matter what you are going to have some level of disconnect when using a tablet. Here is the Scorpion Colored. Not epically rendered just trying to flesh the idea out a bit. http://www.mechlust.com/images/Scorpion_color.jpg |
like the color take a lot!
Moar pls:) |
I really dig your robot concepts and the fact you post the lines as well. I'd really love to see more of those and even some purely extravagant ideas.
