Good morning! Well everyone we have done Mordor and since the Hobbits release why dont we draw the Shire? Your goal is to draw the Shire and Hobbiton isnt the only place you can show us feel free to explore all of the other regions of the shire! Pretty simple! :D

This is an awesome topic, I went with some sort of mansionlike hobbit-house on the outskirts of Woodhall. Here's a first WIP (I know it's rendered a lot already but I got carried away :) )

Quick thumbnail of my entry. I liked the idea that some Hobbits might live in a bog or a swamp. Usually they look so sophisticated but maybe there are some bayou-hobbits. Anyways, we'll see how far I take that. Attachment 112894

I hope you all like it. It is more of a rough I also uploaded thumbnails. I still need to finish the concept and paint it up more but it is a rough. Do people like the god rays in this or is it better without them??

Also I have a really silly question are we allowed to use photo textures into a painting like this or are no photos allowed for texturing at all???Attachment 114266

I have a version here also without god rays do people prefer the god rays and dramatic lighting or the this one without the dramatic lighting and godrays?

late entry, couldnt resist havin a go tho, my angle is the Brandywine bridge that seperates the shire from the rest of the middle earth, and specifically the return of Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin only to find the bridge barred by a mysterious gate, its a scene from the book that isnt in the movie...
