Disney Buys Marvel Comics

Disney will now compete with Hollywood (and in particular, Warner Bros. the owner of DC Comics) buy purchasing Marvel Entertainment for $4 billion dollars, according to Variety.

What will this mean for our favorite comics characters - and the animation studios Disney controls? Will Donald meet Howard The Duck? Will The Incredibles cross over to fight The Fantastic Four? Will Disney Feature Animation do an Inhumans movie? Will Disney character comics be published by Marvel? How will this affect the theme parks? Disney XD?

I personally shed a little tear when I heard the news.

Due to prior deals (for example, Iron Man is sown up at Paramount for years to come) nothing will happen right away, but lots to think about, and lots of exciting/lame possibilities.

I'm hoping that nothing majorly stupid comes up with this situation.  I'm hoping that this will help them get all their licenses  back from all the douches that destroyed their characters in movies.  But in terms of Disney Characters with Marvel Characters, i don't even know if it would catch our attention really.  And i'm pretty sure they can't just sensor anything Marvel does cause look at Miramax.  Disney owned Miramax since 1993.  I will be reserving judgment on this one because i would just like to enjoy something terrific happen and everyone just be surprised by it.

I've been keeping tabs on this since I first heard about the news via one of the Marvel guys on Twitter. It might not extend itself into the Marvel comics area, as most of the Marvel freelancers were afraid of, but it may just only be for the movie entertainment sector.
