A Little Inspiration

Everyone of us here in this fabulous artistic community strive to be the best we can be as artists... or at least we should be.  Each one of us has those moments in life where everything just seems to click and creativity seems to flow freely from our finger tips... and moments where it seems as if we have no artistic ability at all.  It's those moments where we really need to rely on each other and our surroundings for inspiration and motivation.  And I've personally learned, that it is in those moments of struggle that one has an opportunity to really dig deap within themselves and see what they are made of.  To see what we are reaching for, what we desire to do with our amazing ablitities and talents, and what we want the world to see and be.

That is why things like CG HUB are such amazing places for all of us to be invloved in.  Creating networks and connections is what humans do, and what better thing to have than a place where those networks and connections are extremely creative and which inspire and uplift.

This posting isn't so much about a single work of art, or piece of animation, but more like a soup of works to hopefully inspire all of us to continue to make positive works of art, individually and together.

I've personally been feeling very inwardly inspired lately about the fact that we should be more than mindless artists.  That we ALL need to think a little bit more about what it is we do.   That ALL of us as artists have a great opportunity to shape and change and inspire the world around us for the better.  It is up to ALL of us in this art community, who strive to do something with our art,  to use our talents to build, uplift, motivate, set good examples, give hope, inspire.... in short, create.

So to all of you who read this, thank YOU for allowing me to be inspired by YOU and to rant about how I feel.  Now go do some good.

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.        - Margaret Mead

Enjoy.

This first video is a Trailer for a Sundance Film Festival documentary directed by Doug Pray called Art & Copy.  You can also watch an interview with Doug HERE.

Welcome to the future my fellow nerds.  Seattle-based studio Oh, Hello brings us this vision of a highly-gadgetized future to life for Microsoft, with some slick roto, a lot of tracking and, of course, glossy futurific animation.  Feel free to geek out any time... I did.

Next up is a spot done by Hornet Inc. for the Ronald McDonald House.  2D, 3D, stop-motion, claymation, practical, digital... you want it, it's in there.

Last, and certainly not least, is a thoughtful spot for Amnesty International by Leo Burnett Lisbon and Lobo.  The piece is based on the print campaign created by Leo.  Extremely hard hitting and thought provoking, this ad leaves us thinking "I want to use MY art to stand up for a good cause".  ...at least it does for me.  You can watch a higher res version HERE.

Thanks to Motionographer for a lot of my posting inspirations.
